  Options for IP-based KVM extension

KVM over IP Switches

KVM extension has evolved from the simple operation of extending a keyboard-video-mouse workstation to control several CPUs to encompass much more.

From proprietary-based extension over copper or fibre cable, KVM extension today can also be IP-based, using a local area network (LAN) to extend and switch or route over an Ethernet network. The advantage is that all these options provide real-time experience for the users.

As organisations continue to expand, IP-based extension and switching, as well as cloud-based matrix switching, will continue to enable collaboration and communication. Networks will continue to operate efficiently because the bandwidth latency with these applications will be low. These flexible, scalable systems are cost-effective and improve productivity.

Which advanced IP-based switching and extension system from Black Box is most suitable for my application?

ServSwitch Agility

Agility

Agility operates over a LAN to extend DVI video, USB peripherals, including keyboard, video, and mouse, RS232, and audio.

In point-to-point and matrix switching configurations, the Agility delivers HD video using high bandwidth with very low latency. It uses multicast (IGMP) technology, so it doesn't slow down a network when distributing video.

Additionally, Agility KVM-over-IP is a managed switching and extension system to meet a number of configuration applications, including single-target sharing, point-to-point extension, and multicasting.

InvisaPC

InvisaPC

As KVM-over-IP continues to evolve, users can use virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) over IP. VDI-over-IP applications extend KVM signals with HD video over a LAN or a wide area network (WAN).

InvisaPC enables communication over the Internet, enabling both traditional KVM as well as remote desktop applications.
